Hometown Hero: Marcou having impact at UMass
James Marcou may be new to the University of Massachusetts, but that hasn't stopped him from having a big impact on the school's hockey team. The 19-year-old freshman leads the team with 19 points on four goals and 15 assists, and has UMass thinking about a conference title and run in the NCAA tournament. "The season is going really well," Marcou said, pointing to victories over No. 6 Notre Dame and No. 4 Colorado College. "I think we have a good team here at UMass and I couldn't be happier so far at this point." .
Kate and Matt Fool LA With Their Gold Premiere
While Fool's Gold looks a little iffy, there's no question how much we love the movie's two leads, Kate Hudson and Matthew McConaughey, who were both out in LA last night for the premiere. Kate was apparently too chilly (and frilly) to lose the coat while MM had Camila, who doesn't look to be showing much yet, on his arm. We heard a little of Kate gush about Matt becoming a dad, and MM's pretty excited himself for his new little buddy. He said, "Make no doubt about it. My kid will dance. He will be on the beach and he will be taking hikes with a wild bandana on." No surprises there. I love his little outdoors baby already. Fun fact about Miss Alves, she's not just a model, but she and her mom also apparently design (cough::heinous::cough) bags! Here's to hoping that even if this film is no How To Lose A Guy In 10 Days (maybe it's great!) cute cute Kate and Matty will be making movies together for years to come.
Calvert World Values Fund Tackles Challenges of International Socially ...
The fund delivers double-digit three-year returns for shareholders while screening for corporate environmental, social, and governance performance in international and emerging markets. SocialFunds.com -- For socially responsible investment (SRI), the challenge of accessing credible information on corporate social and environmental performance is compounded in the international arena, where such data is even more difficult to obtain in emerging markets than in developed markets. This in part explains the relative dearth of SRI international funds. Of the handful of international SRI funds tracked by SocialFunds.com, the Calvert World Values International Equity Fund (ticker: CWVGX) leads the pack in three-year performance with 16.64 percent in annualized returns for the period ending October 31, 2005.
Eco Soundings
The RSPB leads calls for carbon care and expects its staff to love their feathered friends, too. But it's tricky to square this with the ambitions of Alan Davies and Ruth Miller. These two RSPB staffers have chucked in their jobs to try to set a new world record by seeing 3,662 bird species in a year. "We will be visiting every type of habitat on Earth: desert, rainforest, high altitude, open seas, and sweeping savannah," the couple write. "Thanks to airline scheduling, we'll be passing through Heathrow and Gatwick more often than we'd hoped." Well, thank heavens they are doing it to raise awareness for conservation issues such as climate change. Disagreeable cost If you are planning to appeal against nuclear power stations, motorways or airport extensions, forget it.
In Nevada, Obama's message of 'new politics' failed to deliver
Romney leads with 59 delegates. Huckabee only has 40 delegates. McCain is behind with a mere 36 delegates. McCain will still remain behind Huckabee after the Florida primary. McCain will not win the republican nomination. Help is on the way ………………….Romney is here. Hope is on the way …………………Romney is here. .
